krismakes--Thanks! It's funny you ask, because that's something I'm about to do a big write up on in a couple of weeks! My husband gave me a breadmaker about 5 years ago for Christmas. I used it a couple of times and just wasn't thrilled with the results. So it sat in storage until a couple of months ago when a friend gave me a roll recipe done in the bread maker that I was dying to try! Then, a few weeks after that I attended a class in LA on breadmakers. I have quickly learned that having the right recipes REALLY makes a difference in how you will feel about your breadmaker. As far as functions, you'll want to look for one that gives you a lot of options (different bread types, adding/deleting cooking time, crust lightness/darkness, jam setting, dough only setting, bake only setting, etc.). I'm currently on vacation, but when I get home I will be doing a bakeoff between my breadmaker and a breadmaker that Zojirushi was kind enough to send me to try out. I think that will give even more info as to what makes a good breadmaker!
