Garden Noodles & Greek Dip & Parfaits, Oh My! Refresh Your Bento Routine

in Bento Buddy

How was your Labor Day weekend?  Our was wonderful!  We got back last night from our Idaho adventure and had so much fun that the girls were wishing this morning, while getting ready for school, that we were still in Idaho.  But all adventures must come to an end and back to the grind we must go.  Part of the school grind is for parents too, right?  Making sure the kids get to school on time.  Make sure they get their homework done.  Making sure they actually turn their homework in.  And of course, making sure they have something to eat for lunch.  It’s pretty easy to get into a rut with what you pack, or run out of ideas completely.  Even doing what I do, I run into these problems myself.  I recently wrote a post for the World Market Discover blog to help you add some ideas to your school lunch repertoire and help you stock up on bento packing accessories.  I’ve got three recipes for you—a main dish, a side dish, and a dessert, as well as an idea for how to keep your kiddos hydrated.  Garden noodles, a twist on Korean japchae, are delicious and easily customizable to use whatever veggies your kids love most.  Greek Dip, a creamy dip made with an unexpected ingredient (silken tofu!) is perfect for dipping fresh veggies into, and even more fun when the veggies are cut into animal shapes.  And finally, Berry Lemon Yogurt Parfaits, made with Greek yogurt, lemon curd, shortbread cookies, and fresh berries, are perfect as a special treat.  Hop on over to the World Market Discover blog to get the recipes, tips, and tricks!

You got to write a post for World Market? How cool is that? I love that place! I am so excited to read your post. Your bento ideas have kept me from losing my mind the past couple of years packing lunches every day for my kids. Off to check out the post!
