FM Favorite Giveaway: Magnetic Measuring Spoons

March 30, 2009

in Uncategorized

Starting today I’m going to periodically do a giveaway of one of my favorite things. Today’s giveaway is a set of magnetic measuring spoons made by Progressive International, Inc.
Last year my mom read about these measuring spoons in Real Simple magazine and decided to order them. I remember her excitedly telling me about them and then finally seeing them for myself. I immediately understood why my mom loved them so much–they were awesome! My mom was sweet enough to share the love and give me my own set. So what is so great about these measuring spoons?

The spoons are a five-piece measuring set with both standard and metric measurements. Magnets in the spoons keep them nested together when not being used. The spoons have a flat base that allow them to rest on the counter without tipping over. The spoons are double ended. One end has a narrow, oblong shaped end that will fit into most spice jars.
The other end is round and great for measuring liquids.
Not only is it nice to have those options, but it also comes in handy if one end gets dirty and then you need to measure out something else.

Not only are these spoons the best measuring spoons I’ve ever used, but they’re cute too! I have an extra set that Fuji Nana has donated for this giveaway and I want one of you to have them! To enter the giveaway I want you to leave me a comment telling me what your favorite kitchen tool or gadget is and why. For a second entry in the giveaway, just leave a second (separate) comment letting me know if you are a Follower or a Subscriber. I will keep the comments open until Sunday, April 5th, 10 pm PST, and announce the winner (using a random number generator) on Monday.

** The contest is now closed.**

Love my apple slicer I purchased at the dollar store. Quick and simple, like me. (Not quick, just simple).

I would have to say, after my coffee maker, a really sharp knife is the most used tool. I have a smaller santoku that usually is the first I pick up. I also have an unusual amount of measuring cup, to be sure a clean one is always available. Thanks.

Hi I found you from lolly chops which I found from the crafty crow…. My favorite kitchen gadget is my pampered chef apple corer/wedger. No other apple wedger cut as easily. I then moved onto the oxo mango slicer & a pineapple corer. They make eating fresh fruit so much fun. Thank you for showing me the measuring spoons. They look so cool. If I don't win I think I'll have to get a set anyway. Do they have compaion measuring cups?
Thanks, Susan at: susansbarn@yahoo.com : )

My Cordon Oil ice cream scoop. It came from my husband’s grandfather. It is unlink any ice cream scoop I have ever seen, it is like a slightly curved putty knife.

My favorite kitchen gadget is my electric hand mixer that has attachments for beaters, a bread kneader, an immersion blender, and a mini food processor! My mom got me it for my birthday, and it’s amazingly versatile. :)

My favourite kitchen gadget is my Kenwood Mixmaster. It was my mothers and I grew up watching mum use it and eventually using it my self. Now she has given it to me. It must be 25 years old, but can still make a wonderful pavlova! :)

How sweet and generous of you! I am a frequent lurker. lol

I have a plastic yellow colander that was a wedding present…some 39 years ago. It still works great and I love it for sentimental reasons. Most useful is my Kitchenaid stand mixer. I use it almost every day for something.

If I had a kitchenaid stand-mixer, that would probably be my favourite kitchen gadget.

But since I don’t have one, I’ll pick my red collapsible silicone measuring cups (check them out on this site: http://heavenlyhousewares.com/index.php/2008/01/17/collapsible-silicone-measuring-cups/)
