I’m thankful for . . .

in Uncategorized

Happy Thanksgiving! I get to celebrate double this week, as we are not having our Thanksgiving feast until tomorrow. Today I sat and played with Squirrel, did some housework, put my last SP11 package in the mail to my Spoilee (the big reveal is coming soon!), and nursed the beginnings of a cold. The best part of the day was when Hubby came home this evening from a business trip to Osaka (he’s been gone since early Monday morning) and I got to watch Squirrel’s face light up as she realized who had walked in the door. He knelt down on the ground in front of her and she let go of the couch which she had been standing next to and walked all the way to him (the farthest she has walked yet). I’m thankful for my family. Without them, life would be quite dull.

I leave you on this day of Thanksgiving with these words of wisdom:
“Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die; so, let us all be thankful.”–Buddha
“To educate yourself for the feeling of gratitude means to take nothing for granted, but to always seek out and value the kind that will stand behind the action. Nothing that is done for you is a matter of course. Everything originates in a will for the good, which is directed at you. Train yourself never to put off the word or action for the expression of gratitude.”–Albert Schweitzer
