Kite Eating Tree

in Uncategorized

Hi I’m Kat from Our Adventures in Japan and Fuji Mama asked me to post something for her because she wasn’t feeling well. I’d like to tell you about the kite eating tree.

You know that kite eating tree in Charlie Brown? Well, it truly does exist.

At the beginning of the year on one of my walks, I noticed this kite flying really high. As I neared a park, I was searching for the child or adult that was flying the kite so high.

With my eyes, I followed the string and realized that no child nor adult was flying the kite, but the tree.

Apparently, the ball of string got out of a little boy’s hands and had gotten stuck at the very tip of the tree. He was at the bottom with a pole in hand and walking toward him was his grandma with an even longer pole.

A couple of weeks passed and I wondered what ever happened to the kite. I guess the tree won…it was still holding onto the kite. (if you click on the photo, you’ll be able to see the kite at the very top of the tree)

Now you can tell everyone that the kite eating tree does exist! Hope you feel better soon Fuji Mama!

Ha! We had one of those in the town I grew up in. I wonder if it’s still there…

Feel better Mama!
