Woot! Secret Pal is starting again! SP10 was such a blast, so I am really looking forward to this round. For the eyes of my new snooping spoiler, my answers to the SP11 Questionnaire:
1. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with? What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?
I am still discovering the answer to this question. I DO love things that are soft–I guess I am a very tactile person! I am not so much a fan of things with a lot of fuzz–I don’t like the “halo” effect on the finished product.
2. What do you use to store your needles/hooks in?
I have an awesome needle roll that my SP10 pal gave me for my straight needles. The rest of my needles and hooks are in a bunch of plastic shoe boxes–pathetic, I know. I need to work on that!
3. How long have you been knitting & how did you learn? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced?
I have been knitting for a year and a half (I started in mid-February of 2006). I decided I wanted to learn and so my mom gave me a gift certificate to my LYS at the time for a beginner’s knitting class. My first project in that class was a hat that I knit in the round. I would definitely consider my skill level to be beginner. The past year has been extraordinarily busy and I haven’t had as much time as I would like to pick up my pointy sticks.
4. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?
Yes, I have an Amazon list (under the name “Fuji Mama”) and a Froogle list (see my blog profile).
5. What’s your favorite scent?
Chocolate, baking bread, baking cookies, grapefruit.
6. Do you have a sweet tooth? Favorite candy?
YES!!! ANYTHING chocolate, especially dark chocolate.
7. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do? Do you spin?
Crochet, origami, sewing, painting, sketching, anything I can learn to do out of an interesting craft book. I haven’t learned to spin yet.
8. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD)
I love just about anything, except heavy metal and rap. The rest is fair game: rock, pop, jazz, blues, country, classical, R&B, . . . .
9. What’s your favorite color(s)? Any colors you just can’t stand?
I love color! Red is probably my favorite (a deep wine red). Though I love color combos like: pink and green, pink and orange, bright blue and red, bright pink and blue, etc.
10. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets?
I am married to my husband of 5 1/2 years and have a baby girl who was born in December of 2006. We have 2 cats–Neko (12 years old) and Noodle (2 years old).
11. Do you wear scarves, hats, mittens or ponchos?
Yes to all 4.
12. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit?
I don’t know yet! I guess whatever it is I am trying out at the moment.
13. What are you knitting right now?
I am about to start a pair of leg warmers from One Skein by Leigh Radford.
14. Do you like to receive handmade gifts?
Yes, I love them!
15. Do you prefer straight or circular needles? Bamboo, aluminum, plastic?
I don’t know if I have a preference at this point, but I have done a lot of knitting on circs. I have knit on bamboo needles and aluminum and liked both. I have never used plastic needles before.
16. Do you own a yarn winder and/or swift?
I have a yarn winder, but not a swift.
17. How old is your oldest UFO?
About 1 1/2 months–I have yet to finish seeming 1 of 2 baby booties that I knit up, I gotta get to that!
18. What is your favorite holiday?
Christmas.
19. Is there anything that you collect?
Cookbooks, anything French (I am a Francophile and a Japanophile), and tea cups.
20. Any books, yarns, needles or patterns out there you are dying to get your hands on? What knitting magazine subscriptions do you have?
Oh, that is a dangerous question! I have been dying to try out some Shibui sock yarn and get a set of Knit Picks Options needles and Interchangeable Needle Cables. I would love to get my hands on Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Pi Shawl pattern, or any other great shawl pattern. I would always love to get my hands on any of the Knit Picks yarns–especially because they don’t ship internationally! Right now I don’t have any magazine subscriptions. :-( They are harder to come by here in Japan. So I am going through a magazine drought.
21. Are there any new techniques you’d like to learn?
Lace, socks, and cables.
22. Are you a sock knitter? What are your foot measurements?
Not yet! I have a woman’s size 8 foot.
23. When is your birthday?
January 23.
24. Are you on Ravelry? If so, what’s your ID?
Yes! My ID is “fujimama”.

You should look at Bongo International mail forwarding services. You can create care packages for your self;) jump out to their home page and they have a good demo, but basically they provide a US address and then ship your packages internationally.
You made sure your credit was appropriate and then you began to search for the dream home.
If you are taking this as a serious consideration, you may want to keep a few things in mind.
