"Sugar & Spice & Everything Nice" Baby Shower

in Uncategorized

I love entertaining (except for the cleaning up part).  It’s always fun to mix food and friends.  Last night I helped host a baby shower for my friend, Ms. A, at my house.  Ms. A has 2 cute boys, but #3 is going to be a girl, so we decided we needed an ultra girly theme for our evening!  We went with “Sugar & Spice & Everything Nice” and had the event celebrate all things sugary and sweet.  For the invites I went pink (adapted from the lovely invitations designed by LollyChops),
and then added in the relevant info for the party and printed them out on cardstock.
For decor we kept it simple, putting up some fun pink paper lanterns,

scattered some paper flower confetti, and put out bright pink Gerbera daisies in glass vases.

Baby shower food is always fun.

We made little silverware bundles by wrapping a fork in spoon up in a yellow paper napkin and then tying die cut flours around them with ribbon.

We served cut fruit, a layered fruity gelatin dish,
mini Pains au Chocolat (just cut the dough into smaller strips),
and a pink punch.
We also had a “Candy Bar” where guests could fill a cellophane treat bag with sweet treats to take home.

It was a fun evening.  Ms. A got some adorable things,

and we all enjoyed each other’s company.  I think even Bug enjoyed it!

Now if only the process of actually giving birth was as fun as celebrating the upcoming birth, life would really be sweet.

What a fun shower theme! I especially love the "candy bar" I may have to borrow that idea for the next shower I host. Love it!

Turned out very cute! You really are a foodie- I don't know if you noticed or did it on purpose, but you spelled flowers "flours" Love it. I especially loved the cutlery bundles.

Ha! I didn't notice–that is hilarious! I really do think about food 24/7, it's a curse. :-) I think I'll have to leave it that way–way too much fun!

really really beautiful. yum. my favorite is that gelatin mold. old school gelatin molds are so tasty and pretty. yours is gorgeous.

now, birth may not be FUN, but it is sweet. at least getting to hold that little bambino for the first time. hope mama got to make an extra goodie bag. she'll need it.
