Tossed Salad

in Family, News, Uncategorized

Today’s post is a bit of a “tossed salad,” so bear with me! This past Friday was my birthday (thank you to all of you who left birthday wishes–it made my day!), and it was a great day. When I married Mr. Fuji it became a tradition for him to take me out for sushi (my all-time favorite food next to chocolate) on my birthday. He did not disappoint this year, despite the fact that I could not go out. He just brought it to me! Unfortunately I couldn’t eat most of my favorite things (they are off limits for only a few more hours!), but I still was able to enjoy some yummy rolls, gyoza, and edamame.
Squirrel inhaled everything, obviously enjoying her meal. Yeah, we need to work on her manners . . . that’s chewed up edamame in her mouth . . . .
What better way to top the night off than with a slice of chocolate truffle tart made by Fuji Nana (FM’s Mama)?
Now we’re just counting down the hours until Little Fuji’s arrival. By noon (PST) tomorrow we’ll be a family of four!
That being said, I obviously won’t be posting for a bit. However, things will still be happening here at LFM! Starting tomorrow I have some fabulously wonderful guest posters who have agreed to make appearances. The first guest poster is the multi-talented Jackie from The Kitchen Post. Just in case she doesn’t tell you herself, she has her own blogtivity beginning tomorrow, Dim Sum Of All Fears, so check it out!

Finally, in other news, LFM got an award! Bob over at Cooking Stuff awarded LFM the Lemonade Award, for a refreshing blog. Thanks Bob, I’m honored!
I am not very current on my blog reading right now and have a major case of placenta brain, so instead of passing this on, I want to hear from you! What are your favorite refreshing blogs?

I hope your delivery is brief and … well, as pleasant as can be hoped for.

When my mom had one of us (which one changes each time she tells the story, heh) she played cards with the doctor the whole time during labor. Hope yours is like that. :)

Interesting to note that alot of Japanese women (including hubby’s mum) ate sashimi when she was pregnant. I wonder why it differs between the cultures? Are our bodies less able to cope?

Well, i wish you all the best, and a healthy baby :)
