There are so many recipes that hold so many memories for me during the Christmas season. During the past couple of days I have been craving gingerbread cookies. Out of the recipes that I have tried to date, this one is my favorite. I haven't made them yet this year, and I didn't end up making them last year either (having a baby kind of threw off my baking schedule–go figure). But before last year, I made them every Christmas. I discovered this recipe during my first year of law school. My dear sweet friend Allison came over one evening right after fall semester finals were over in December and we made tons of these cookies. We found it to be such a good way to de-stress after the extreme stress of finals, that we did it our second and third year of law school as well. I miss my friend and hope that she gets to make these cookies this year as I plan to do. Do you have a recipe that carries memories with it? I would love to hear about it!

Squirrel and I went and made some granola deliveries this morning. She was ready for the cold, but totally stylin' in what I like to call her Barbie jacket. It's actually a jacket from the GAP that was a baby shower gift, but doesn't it look like something you would put on a Barbie?

It's not too late to receive a Japanese New Year's card! Just let me know by this Friday, the 14th! (For those of you on my regular Christmas card list–the New Year's Card list is a totally separate list, so give me a holler if you want to be on it.)

Hi There! I don’t think I commented on your entry in my blog contest. The bad news is you didn’t win. . . but the good news is your # was 2nd, so if the winner doesn’t claim her prize by next week, it goes to you :)
Good job Squirrel giving the vacant model look for the picture in the Barbie ensemble.
I’d love a card! (And I’ll be sending you one as well.)
Sour Cream cut-out cookies, date balls, and apple streudal all say “holidays” to me. Plus, let’s not forget peanut clusters or bird’s nests (chocolate covered chow mein noodles). Yum!
