Do you have your Thanksgiving menu planned yet? Or are you mostly ready, but have a few things left to figure out? Or maybe you’re one of those people who had it all planned out a month ago, down to what table linens you’re going to use, what foods will go into what dishes, and who will be sitting where? If you’re one of those people, I’m jealous! I’m in the camp of people who plans for a month and then changes everything at the last minute. I’m a nightmare. Seriously. So if you find yourself still needing to make menu decisions, I’m here for you. Here is a list of ideas that may help you out!
- Sweet & Spicy Deviled Eggs — Deviled eggs are one of my favorite appetizers for Thanksgiving, and these are extra special with the addition of Thai sweet chili sauce in the filling.
- Kale Power Salad with Lemon Cilantro Vinaigrette — This is one of my all-time favorite recipes. It’s a beautiful salad that is bursting with flavor and nutrients and a great way to add more color and texture to your Thanksgiving meal.
- Endive, Arugula, Fennel and Orange Salad — A fresh and light salad that is a perfect accompaniment for the rich dishes of the Thanksgiving season.
- Sesame Green Beans with Bacon and Chestnuts — Green beans with bacon and chestnuts, tossed in a toasted sesame sauce. A fresh take on classic green beans. Plus, doesn’t bacon make everything better?
- Mashed Cauliflower — A fantastic way to add more vegetables to the Thanksgiving table and a great way to provide lighter options for those watching their waistlines.
- Lemon and Fennel Roast Turkey — The perfect Thanksgiving turkey—not only is it picture perfect, but it’s moist and flavorful to boot!
- Turkey Gravy — A classic turkey gravy that utilizes the drippings from your roast turkey, along with gluten-free options.
- Fuji Light Cranberry Sauce — A classic cranberry sauce that uses a sugar/stevia blend to lighten things up without skimping on flavor. Or you could go and get yourself a copy of Aarti Sequeira’s new book, Aarti Paarti, so that you can make her unbelievably good recipe for Ruby Red Chutney, a cranberry chutney which I will be making for Thanksgiving every year from now on.
- Seed Fruit & Nut Bread — A soft chewy loaf of bread filled with a variety of seeds, nuts, and golden raisins.
- Pie! Pie is one of the things I look forward to most about the Thanksgiving feast! How about Fudge & Banana Custard Pie (my dad’s favorite)? Or Fuji Nana’s White Chocolate, Orange, & Raspberry Pie? Or Lemon Icebox Pie? Or Paleo Chocolate Silk Pie? Or maybe one of each?
Whatever you may be making, I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
