Based on my review of 2007’s “first posts” I think I need to work on my opening lines! Just a little bit boring, don’t you think? We are finally back from the US. Although we had a wonderful visit, I am so happy to be back in my own bed. The cats were very happy to see us and have made it a point to follow me wherever I go. This is making Squirrel very happy and she is constantly saying “Hi Kiyee!” (Translation: “Hi Kitty!”) as she waves excitedly at them. Our bulging luggage is slowly being unpacked. We came home with a random assortment of treasures ranging from the banal (Gerber baby food green peas, socks, hydrocortisone cream, etc.) to the more exciting (Christmas presents of course!).
The second half of our trip was spent in Salt Lake City, Utah staying at Hubby’s mom’s. We had a great time visiting with friends and family and enjoyed lots and lots of snow. We had several snow storms while we were there.

I wasn’t sure how Squirrel would react to the snow. The day after we arrived in Utah, we went out to take family pictures and Squirrel loved it and was laughing almost the whole time. The cold doesn’t seem to bother her at all.

While I was gone my New Years cards slowly made their way to their recipients.

I was greeted by my own lovely stack of cards when I got home. Thank you to everyone who participated in the Holiday Card Exchange, I loved your cards! I got an extra surprise from one participant. The wonderful auteur de laline la laine sent me a darling notebook with Les Pâtisseries de Paris on the cover along with her card (a vintage black and white photograph of 2 ice skaters with le Panthéon in the background). So cute and thoughtful–thank you for the little piece of France!+--+Jan+10+(Thurs)+330.jpg)

Welcome Home! I’ve been waiting to hear that you were home. Didn’t want to interfere with “family time”. Hope you had a great time in the US! Glad to see that Squirrel liked the snow.
Were you that close to mountains? Those things are huge!
