Well, today is our last day in Salt Lake City. We spent 5 days in Memphis and 9 here in Salt Lake. Whew! Later this afternoon we will fly to So. California to spend 9 days and then it will be back to Japan! It has been a blast introducing the little babe to all of her grandparents. Now only one of her grandpa’s has yet to meet her. Today Grandpa, today! I have definitely been enjoying US prices on things like fruit, gasoline (gasp! can you believe anyone would be thankful for those prices?), yarn, craft supplies, magazines, etc. In Japan some of the prices start to seem normal, and then you come back to the US and realize how far from normal they are! For example, a cheap price for a melon would be $15. A US magazine typically costs around $20. Gasoline is somewhere between $5 and $6 per gallon. Sigh. So, 9 more days of price paradise! However, there are some things that I’m looking forward to getting back to: my own bed, a normal schedule for the baby, friends, our 2 cats, etc. I am also looking forward to getting a little more exercise, which is built into my daily living in Japan, because you just end up walking a lot more when you live there!
In even more exciting news, SP10 has started! I got my Spoilee and am very excited about her! She seems to love chocolate just as much as I do, so that’s always a good sign, right? I also heard from my Spoiler! I’m looking forward to this experience–it’s my first SP and first time to participate in any kind of swap. I’m having fun concocting how I am going to spoil and looking forward to being spoiled. :-)
