Yesterday was a special day for our family–it was St. Nicholas Day! We woke up yesterday morning to find our shoes filled with goodies. I even had a surprise gift from St. Nick this year–a beautiful poinsettia, AND Fuji-san chose to make an appearance again! What a wonderful day.

For the past few months we have been hosting 2 visitors on an exchange program. The first was Shaun the Sheep. He came as part of SP11, so that he could give Krafty1 the inside scoop on Japan, without revealing my secret identity before the end of SP11! We will miss having him around, but we hope that Krafty1 will stay in touch despite his departure. Krafty1 is an amazing knitter, and sent a package with this GORGEOUS shawl in it during Sp11–I think she was a little confused about who was supposed to be spoiling who! Thanks again Krafty1!

Our second visitor was a sweet little Japanese girl named Keito-chan (毛糸ちゃん). She is very quiet, never makes a mess, and is always polite. We have enjoyed having her here. She just left to go spend some time with Polly (aka “Swappy”–my amazing SP11 spoiler). I’m afraid that she may have so much fun with Polly that she may not want to come back, but we’ve got our fingers crossed.

I would like to leave you today with some gratuitous Squirrel footage:

I love Squirrel videos! What a little cutie! I can’t wait to get these two little ones together. I know we’re going to be hilariously laughing all day and all night!
